Welcome to the ‘talk with us’ website – the place where you can voice your views and concerns about what’s happening in your neighbourhood and have a say in the way key council services are delivered.

If you thought that your County Council was remote and out of touch, then we want you to reconsider. Your local County Council representatives now meet up to six times a year in a venue close to you, and we want you to talk with us. CLCs are designed to make sure that local people can help shape the wide range of services provided by the County Council. That’s everything from our schools, libraries, roads, pavements, children and young peoples services, adult services, trading standards and the Fire and Rescue service plus many others.

Our services must meet your needs; that’s why your voice is so important. Many of the decisions that used to be taken at County Hall, are now being made at local level by your CLC. Some of these are highways matters, such as pedestrian crossings, highways improvements and speed limits. Other duties include appointing Local Authority school governors.

With the community initiative fund, we have a budget that can be directed to assist local projects for your community. Recently money has been given to Bolney Parish Council to refurbish fingerposts, Time 4 Children to purchase new equipment, Hurstpierpoint Community Partnership for a structural survey of their new building.

We are here to listen, learn, and get things done. Do feel free to come along to one of our meetings and get involved. We welcome your comments and your point of view, contact us via email on:
